Taking you back to the roots with a set from Benny Ill on RampRadio late last month.

Benny ill has used many aliases over his 15 years producing, including: High Plains Drifter, Dub War, Kid Deli, Mack One and Bill & Ben. He has collaborated with key Dubstep players Loefah, Mala (Digital Mystikz), Cyrus (Random Trio Productions), DJ Hatcha, and Geiom (Berkane Sol Records).

As a key Horsepower member, Benny continues to produce alongside other original members Nassis, Lev. Jnr, and Jay King. He has a 12” out on Tempa Recordings ‘Kingstep/Dammit’, and an album forthcoming. He has also been producing remixes for Lee “Scratch” Perry, Optical & Ryme Tyme, and DJ Narrows.

Benny DJ’s regularly at FWD>> & DMZ (since they began) , and has performed at Ministry of Sound, Fabric, Heaven, Plastic People, and endless Dubstep nights in the UK and abroad. Horsepower Productions are regularly cited along side El-B/Zed Bias/Oris Jay etc for the creation of Dubstep, and helped catalyse Tempa Recordings.
