Virus Syndicate first caught people's attention after the release of their full-length debut album 'Work Related Illness' on Planet Mu in 2005. Cockney accents, Grime-style word flow, and futuristic and anthemic beats from the hands and mind of Manchester based producer MRK1 helped bring attention to the urban and dance music crossover that is UK Garage.



Fast forward to 2008, where MRK-1 is now known more for his hefty and weighty dubs on the Boka and Contagious labels, and where Grime has now taken a backseat to Dubstep. In this mix, MRK-1 and Virus MC JSD grace 'pon the decks and microphone respectively. Featuring new tracks from the likes of Skream, Benga, Chimpo, and MRK-1 himself, along with the poisonous flow of JSD, this mix goes to show that while Grime may have fallen off since the rise of dubstep, the sensibilities of the both sometimes opposing genres can still work together within the same framework.
